Community Forums

As the overdose epidemic continues to rage across the country and our state – one person dies from a drug overdose every 19 minutes – Minnesota communities are organizing to address dangerous and deadly recreational drug use. In the east metro, three forums will be held in an effort to educate local parents, teachers, and youth leaders on discussing the problem with children and teens, recognizing warning signs, and understanding the disease of addiction.

According to today’s article in the Star Tribune, participants will include Tom Fitzgerald, the father of a Woodbury teen who died of an overdose last year, Washington County Sheriff Bill Hutton, County Attorney Pete Orput, local police, and prevention professionals from Know the Truth, a substance abuse prevention program. We encourage any and all who have a story to share or who are looking for more information about recreational drug use to attend one of the upcoming forums:
